This is a pretty interesting question
When it comes to relationships – Love can thrive
When it comes to marriage – Love goes out of the window
Reasons(General):
- Individual’s background and social standing
- Thought process
- Financial well being
- Educational Background and Growth prospects (among other things)
In case of India, there is another layer of icing to the reasons stated above:
- Religion
- Caste
- Region and Language
- Food Habits
- Ancestry (this may seem laughable but have experienced it)
- “Stability” in Career (this is another ridiculous clause)
- Salaried – Business
- Moveable – Immovable assets
The list is not exhaustive but you get the idea why in India things get more curled than a ‘Jalebi’
PS: Image of Jalebi shared for reference incase you are not aware what it is 🙂
So, at the end the summary is simple in the case of India & love marriage
- Falling in love is easy
- Translating into a relationship is not easy
- Converting the relationship into marriage is absolutely not easy
If someone can pull a rabbit out of their hat and convince everyone (including families) and keep them happy – you deserve a 21 Gun Salute!!
Hope this helps
God bless!
