If the 2nd house is empty, what does it mean?

If the 2nd House is empty, go as follows:

1. Check what Zodiac falls in the 2nd house
2. Depending on the Zodiac, check who the Zodiac Lord is
3. Once you check the Zodiac Lord, check which house & Zodiac it is placed in

This may not seem very easy, but it is easy to understand

Let us take an example,

For a Leo Ascendant, the 2nd House has the Zodiac of Virgo ruled by Mercury.

Now, if the 2nd House is empty, we need to check where Mercury is placed.

If Mercury is placed in the 9th House – Zodiac of Aries (ruled by Mars) – we need to check where Mars is placed.

The placement & dignity of Mars will decide the outcome of the 2nd House.
