Tata Power in the recently convened AGM has kept some bold targets
- Double its total capacity from 13.5 gigawatts (GW) in 2022 to over 30 GW by 2027
- Expand the renewable energy portfolio from 34% to 60% by 2027 and 80% by 2030
- Invest over ₹750 billion in the next five years in the pursuit of its ESG Goals

Considering this, Tata Power through its vision and Tata Ecosystem is set to benefit from the PLI Scheme and other schemes meant to aid in Energy Transition.
The stock has immensely risen considering the transition and diversification in areas like electric vehicle charging stations, and defense among others which fall under the ambit of Tata Power.
Now, is it a good time to invest in it?
At present, there are three players in the space who are poised to benefit from the green push by the Government of India
- Adani Green
- NTPC
- Tata Power
Among the three, NTPC looks cheaper on a 5-year horizon and is better suited to absorb funds meant for the transition.
