Studying overseas is a dream for many students in India as it allows them to get exposure to academics, the environment, and the work culture.
In India, there is a huge industry(consisting of consultants, agencies, etc.) that works with students to convert their aspirations into reality by charging students a nominal fee. (List of Top 10 Consultants in India)
So, if you have decided to study abroad, the next steps are as follows
- Finding the course/program that is aligned with your future goals
- Finding out the colleges/Universities providing this course
- Finding out the exams/evaluation tests (GRE/TOEFL/IELTS) that need to be undertaken for the course
- Finding out the deadlines for application, documents needed, and the start of the semester for the specific course
- Finding out the evaluation approach used by the college along with the weightage provided for each component of the application

The next step is how to afford the fees and expenses linked to studying abroad
- Find out if the course/program gives scholarships to international students (Germany provides some fee waivers)
- Find out if there are any fellowships or grants that are available for students
- At the local level, try to find a bank that can provide student loans at low interest rates without any foreclosure penalty (Education Loans for Studying Abroad in India)
- Explore overseas options regarding getting a student loan (which will not be susceptible to current value fluctuations)
- Look for accommodation that is shared for saving cost and well connected to the college/university
Hope this helps to throw some light on this topic as it is an aspirational one for many students in their final/pre-final year
