Saturn or Shani is a slow moving planet that takes a total of 30 years to go around 12 houses of an Astrological Chart.
This translates to 2.5years in each house (which is represented by different Zodiac Signs).
Now, let us understand what is Saturn’s Sade-Sati and Saturn’s Dhaiya
Shani’s Sade-Sati
- Sade-Sati means 7.5 years (2.5 years * 3)
- This happens when Saturn moves one house ahead from where Moon is placed
- In Sade-Sati, Saturn spends 2.5 years each
- In the house ahead of the moon’s placement
- In the house in which moon is placed and
- In the house after the moon’s placement
- The first 2.5years is the toughest, with moderation in the next 2.5 years and low-intensity in the last 2.5 years
- The Sade-sati is meant to transform the person’s approach to life especially in terms of responsibilities, attachments, personal growth and duties towards the society
Shani’s Dhaiya
- Dhaiya means 2.5 years
- This happens when Saturn moves 4 or 8 places from where Moon is placed
- In Dhaiya, Saturn spends
- 2.5 years in the house which is 4 or 8 places ahead of the moon (First Dhaiya)
- 2.5 years in the house which is 4 or 8 places after the moon (Second Dhaiya)
- Both the Dhaiya’s have an intricate meaning
- First Dhaiya is to understand that a tough time is coming and it is better to get ready for the Sade Sati that is down the line
- Second Dhaiya is a way to remember the learnings from the Sade Sati and implement them in our life
